Yandex incorrectly marked a site as malware or fraud!
Opera does not provide its own malware blacklists. You can see which list provider has detected the malware by clicking the “Why was this page blocked?” link on the warning page in Opera.
You can report it to most list providers if you believe it to be a mistake.
If the list provider that has blocked that website is Yandex, then Yandex detected malware on the site. In order to remove the website from their blacklist, the owner needs to be registered at Yandex.Webmaster service, and then submit the website to the service for re-inspection. Please follow instructions provided by Yandex:
https://yandex.com/support/webmaster-troubleshooting/threats/dangerous-sites.html
If Yandex appears to have already removed it from their malware blacklist, Opera should also stop blocking it soon (the next time Opera receives a malware blacklist update).
Websites display fake virus warnings
Note that some websites may display fake virus warnings, hoping to convince you to download and install malware disguised as an anti-virus product, or hoping you will contact them and follow malicious instructions. If a website tells you that you have a virus, the warning is usually fake. If you think that your phone has a virus, you should use reputable anti-virus and anti-malware products to remove it.
Some websites do not work in Extreme Savings mode
This is not an exploitable security issue, or even not related to security at all. It cannot be used by a remote attacker in order to abuse Opera users.
To use that website, you need to disable “Extreme” Data Savings mode. Go to the Opera menu > Data savings > and select either “None” or “High”.
Opera unexpectedly opens unwanted web pages to show ads
It sounds like there may be an unwanted application installed on your phone, which is opening the unwanted pages in your browser. You will need to work out which app this is and remove it. You should also use reputable anti-virus and anti-malware products to remove any malware which may have been installed.
My login for certain websites is blocked by RECAPTCHA2
Please report the problem to the website owner. We cannot control other websites, and their ways to block access.
Malware is found only by the Opera browser! There are no such warnings in Chrome, Safari, or Firefox
If one of Opera’s list providers has identified malware on a website, but other browsers have missed it, that is a good thing for Opera, not a bad thing. Other browsers have failed to detect it.
You can see which list provider has detected the malware by clicking the “Why was this page blocked?” link on the warning page in Opera. You can report it to that blacklist provider if you believe it to be a mistake.
Login problems occur on other websites
Unfortunately, you have reported this problem to the wrong company. We do not own the websites that you visit (except opera.com) and we cannot control your accounts on those websites. If you are having problems with your account on a website, please contact the owners of that website.
I get inappropriate ads or automatic redirections on Tubidy
Unfortunately, this is a problem with the Tubidy website, not with the Opera Mini browser. Perhaps one of their scripts has an error or there are other issues. There is, therefore, nothing further we can do about this problem. The website is choosing to redirect you to the adverts, and they cannot be blocked by regular ad blocking.
We have informed the website owners of the problem and hope they can fix their website soon.
Facebook login problems occur, e.g. banned user
Unfortunately, you have reported this problem to the wrong company. We cannot control your Facebook account nor the problems that occur on Facebook. If you are having problems with your Facebook account, please contact Facebook.
Note that the Facebook website works best if you disable Extreme data savings mode in the Opera Mini menu.
Dangerous websites are not blocked!
Opera does not maintain its own phishing, fraud, or malware blacklist. If you feel that our browser failed to recognize a fraudulent or malicious website, you can contact the following companies to have the URL added to their blacklists (after they have tested the sites). Opera will then use the updated blacklists as soon as the website is added to it.
You can contact each of the companies here:
- PhishTank (phishing and fraud):
https://www.phishtank.com/faq.php - APWG (phishing and fraud):
https://www.avg.com/en-gb/page-rating-report
Information from Yandex is also used to identify websites with malware, but there is no way to report suggestions to them.
- PhishTank (phishing and fraud):
A website is incorrectly blocked as dangerous!
You are seeing the “Fraud warning page” because the page you want to visit is listed as dangerous on some blacklists. Opera does not maintain its own phishing, fraud, or malware blacklist. The blacklists are provided by several partners, such as PhishTank and APWG for phishing and fraud, and Yandex for malware. If you think that the blacklist provider has made a mistake, you can click the “Why was this blocked?” at the bottom of the fraud warning page. link to see which blacklist provider has identified the malware. You can then contact that blacklist provider to inform them of their mistake.
